Lectures:
INF 227, HS2
Thursdays, 09:15 - 11:00,
Fridays, 09:15 - 11:00.
Lectures will start on 16 April.

Note: the lecture on 23 April will exceptionally take place in the "Gold Box" (ground floor of INF 226).

Tutorials:
Thursday afternoon,
will start on 23 April

The date of the  written examination to terminate will be announced as soon the central exam adinistration has assigned a room and time.  Please register in HeiCo for the exam.

To be admitted to the written examination,
60% of the points of the exercise sheets
are required. Admissions to the exam
from previous years are not accepted.

The lecture focuses on modern particle physics. It builds on the letcure Particle Physics and replaces the former lecture Standard Model.

Topics of the lectureWhile the lecture Particle Physics was mainly focused on tree-level processes, the lecture Particle Physics II adresses the effects of higher-order (radiative) quantum corrections - often called loops. The lecture comprises three theoretical blocks (DGLAP evolution in QCD, Higgs mechanism, Beyond the Standard Model) and several experimental blocks (higher order QED effects, quark and lepton flavor physics, neutron physics, dark matter searches).

Prerequisites:   Lecture "Particle Physics".
