Welcome to Heidelberg University!
To help you settle into your studies, we would like to introduce the Physics Buddy-Programm.
What is the Physics Buddy-Programm?
The Physics Buddy-Programm gives you the opportunity to connect with more experienced Master’s students which will be your “Mentors”. They will support you during your first few weeks with any questions you may have about your studies, life in Heidelberg, and student life in general. Throughout the semester, you can have lunch get-togethers with your fellow students or join us for board game evenings, and any other events we are organizing.
How can you register?
You can join one of the groups down below. If you can’t register because you don’t have a university account yet, you can create a preliminary account using the following link: https://uebungen.physik.uni-heidelberg.de/account?lang=en
"Kick-Off"-Event
On April 12 at 5 p.m., there will be a "Kick-Off"-Event in front of the foyer of the Kirchhoff Institute for Physics (Im Neuenheimer Feld 227). There you can get to know your Mentors, exchange contact details and ask your first questions about life and studying in Heidelberg.
Who are your contacts for problems and comments?
The buddy program is organized by us (Kathi, Caro, and Captain Joni) from the Physics Student Council, and you can reach us at buddy@physik.uni-heidelberg.de.
We are also supported by Loredana Gastaldo (Equal Opportunities Officer) and Norbert Christlieb (Dean of Studies) from the faculty, who are available as important contacts for general problems you may encounter during your studies.
