Stellar Astrophysics (MVAstro2, MVSpec)

This module consists of the lecture, the tutorials and the seminar.  

Exercises will be submitted via the "Übungsgruppensystem" in groups of two or three.  

To excel in the module MVAstro2 "Stellar Astrophysics," it is essential to complete an adequate number of exercises and attend the tutorials. Merely submitting exercises through the Übungsgruppensystem is insufficient; you must also be prepared to present your solutions during the tutorial sessions. The same holds for the participation in the seminar at the end of the lecture period, which is mandatory to complete MVAstro2.

Credit points cannot be awarded solely based on participation in the written exam; attendance at the tutorials is also required to receive credit.

Seminar:
As decided in the lecture, the seminar will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 28 and 29, 2026. You find a list of suggsted topic at this shared ADS library: https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/public-libraries/9LJWjxPEQGyzSBsN8eXLUg. Seminar topics should be presented by teams of two. The detailed schedule will be announced soon.

Final Exam:
It be held on Tuesday, July 21, in the time from 9h to 12h CEST in the Grand Lecture Hall (gHS) of Philosophenweg 12. It is not allowed to use any supporting material (such as books, printouts, calculators, etc.), except for a 1-page handwritten (!) summary sheet that you can use. We provide the questions and paper to write on.
