Passing the course

There is no examination at the end of the semester. Instead, we assign you the following homework:
Please read the PRad paper on the proton radius measurement, which is linked to lecture 3, and summarize the content on a maximum of 4 handwritten pages.

Please send us your contribution by July 21 at the latest.


Based on this homework, we rate your participation in this lecture as passed or not passed. No grades will be awarded.

You could use the following format:

- imagine, you show your write-up to a fellow student, he/she should be able to understand the issue without referring to any other paper.

- no abstract necessary

- no references necessary

- introduction: why is the proton radius important, what led to the recent interest in the proton radius measurement?

- describe the experimental apparatus

- what are the particular difficulties?

- what is the result of the key measurement?

- what is the conclusion/short summary?

- what is your impression, is the proton radius puzzle solved? Do you see open questions?

- show 1 or 2 key figures
