Meet&Mingle@Isoquant (formerly known as Thesis@Isoquant) is a networking and mentoring platform primarily for female students in physics. All interested non-female students are also welcome.
We are addressing 3 main objectives:

(1) getting to know the working groups within the Collaborative Research Centre 1225 IsoQuant (www.isoquant-heidelberg.de)

(2) discuss & exchange about general topics related to university / career & family planning / work-life balance/ etc.

(3) find possible topics and supervisors for bachelor, master or PhD theses

If one or more of these items are interesting for you, you are very welcome to join our events.

If you register, you will receive all our announcements and information concerning our events, but you are not obliged to join our meetings.
You can also join if you are not registered and you are welcome to invite friends and colleagues.

Registration: No registration needed! Just join us at 16:00 in front of Philosophenweg 12.

Meeting 11.05.2022

Meet Dr. Sanam Vardag (IUP) and her Working Group

Research interests: Budgeting greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, simulating atmospheric transport on scales from urban over regional to global, designing Observing System Simulation Experiments (OSSE), measuring CO2 and its isotopes using in-situ sensors.

Meeting Place: INF 226, golden box (ground floor)
Meeting Time: 16:00

Meeting 01.06.2022

Meet Prof. Dr. Lavinia Heisenberg (ITP) - with Pizza Night

Research interests: Interface between gravitational physics, cosmology, particle physics and computational astrophysics ranging from purely theoretical topics to more observational subjects.

Meeting Place: Garden of Philosophenweg 16
Meeting Time: 16:00
Registration: until Tuesday, 31st of May 11 o’clock by sending a short e-mail to sfb1225@thphys.uni-heidelberg.de (registration is just for us such that we can estimate how much Pizza is needed)

Meeting 22.06.2022

Meet Prof. Dr. Saskia Hekker (HITS) and her Working Group

Research interests: Internal structures of stars, stellar evolution, asteroseismology, solar-like oscillators.

Meeting Place: Physikalisches Institut INF 226, golden box (ground floor)
Meeting Time: 16:00 c.t.

Meeting 13.07.2022

Meet Prof. Dr. Thomas Gasenzer (KIP) and his Working Group

Research interests: Ultracold quantum gases far from equilibrium, universal dynamics and quantum turbulence, artificial neural networks for quantum physics, highly correlated quantum systems and entanglement.
