Fundamental Physics @ Low Energies
Due to the current situation these lectures will take place online. The currently foreseen format is that of a live presentation via Webex. Please register to receive the connection information.
These lectures present an overview of the opportunities for exploring fundamental physics Beyond the Standard Model with low energy experiments. We will motivate a variety of popular benchmark models, focussing in particular on the three ``portals'' to new physics: kinetic mixing, the Higgs portal and the neutrino portal. In addition we also investigate the axion as a particularly well motivated extension of the Standard Model. The new particles arising in all these models lead to new, observable effects that can be tested in a whole range of experiments including searches for fifth forces, light-shining-through walls experiments but also fixed target experiments at accelerators.
