As usual, there will be the student workspace this semester! Because of the pandemic, it will not be possible to talk to the tutors in persona on the second floor of the Kirchhoff Institute of Physics. Instead, there will be an online alternative - just like last semester.
For this purpose, you can join the Discord Server at any time. From Monday to Friday, except Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., students of higher semesters are available to you as tutors. You can ask them questions about the exercise sheets, the contents of a lecture or the course of study in general.
So if you wonder why you are despairing of your exercise sheet for another 8 hours or proving something else than you are supposed to, join the Discord Server and ask your questions!
In addition to that we will offer the workspace in persona as soon as possible.
The student workspace starts on 19.04.2021, from this date on we are at your disposal like the last semesters.
The student workroom is open for you at the following times.
|Monday:||13:00 - 19:00|
|Tuesday:||13:00 - 19:00|
|Wednesday:||13:00 - 19:00|
|Friday:||13:00 - 19:00|
A tutor is available at these times. The server is of course also accessible outside these times.
How does the Discord Server work?
If you do not have a discord account yet, you can create one. But it's not mandatory. The only advantage is that your conversations with the tutors are stored. It is very easy to do this with an account and can be done here.
Afterwards you follow the invitation link in the upper right corner, which will let you join the server Student Workspace of Physics. There you get into a rule channel. Please read these rules carefully and follow them when using the student workspace.
If you are on the server, you have two possibilities:
- Are you looking for an easy way to exchange information with your note partners or commulsions without leaving the house? Then sit together at one of the group tables and discuss like before in the KIP in front of the seminar rooms.
- You are not coming to one of the lectures? The tutorial was too fast? You need an approach or an idea to solve one of your exercises? You would like to ask basic questions, but there was no time in the tutorial? You have questions about the organisation of your studies? Then sign in the waiting queue at the tutor's table and you will be redirected as soon as a tutor is available.
