Just like the last semesters there is the student workspace again this semester! So far you could talk to the tutors in persona on the second floor of the Kirchhoff Institute of Physics. Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment for known reasons. Nevertheless we want to continue to offer you the service of the student workspace.
The only difference compared to the past semesters is that the student workspace is now online. We have set up a Discord Server for this purpose, which you can join at any time and ask your questions to the tutors.
From Monday to Friday from 13:00 to 19:00 o'clock, students of higher semesters are available to you as tutors. You can ask them questions about the exercises on the exercise sheets, the contents of a lecture or the course of study in general.
So if you wonder why you are despairing of your exercise sheet for another 8 hours or you are proving something else than what you are supposed to prove, join the Discord Server and ask your questions!
The student workspace starts on 27.04.2020, from this date on we are at your disposal like the last semesters.
The student workroom is open for you at the following times.
|Monday:||13:00 - 19:00|
|Tuesday:||13:00 - 19:00|
|Wednesday:||13:00 - 19:00|
|Thursday:||13:00 - 19:00|
|Friday:||13:00 - 19:00|
A tutor is available at these times. The server is of course also accessible outside these times.
How does the Discord Server work?
If you do not have a discord account yet, you can create one. But it's not mandatory. The only advantage is that your conversations with the tutors are stored. It is very easy to do this with an account and can be done here.
Afterwards you follow the invitation link in the upper right corner, which will let you join the server Student Workspace of Physics. There you get into a rule channel. Please read these rules carefully and follow them when using the student workspace.
If you are on the server, you have two possibilities:
- Are you looking for an easy way to exchange information with your note partners or commulsions without leaving the house? Then sit together at one of the group tables and discuss like before in the KIP in front of the seminar rooms.
- You are not coming to one of the lectures? The tutorial was too fast? You need an approach or an idea to solve one of your exercises? You would like to ask basic questions, but there was no time in the tutorial? You have questions about the organisation of your studies? Then sign in the waiting queue at the tutor's table and you will be redirected as soon as a tutor is available.
